The Honest Abe Society was established to encourage transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct among attorneys practicing law in the United States.
The Society does not rank lawyers, evaluate legal skill, or confer awards.
Rather, it provides a means by which attorneys may affirm that they satisfy foundational standards of professional standing and ethical compliance.
Membership Standards
Attorneys seeking membership in The Honest Abe Society must certify that they:
Have been licensed to practice law for a minimum of three (3) years
Are currently in good standing in all jurisdictions where admitted
Have not been publicly disciplined, sanctioned, or reprimanded by any bar authority
Remain in compliance with all applicable Rules of Professional Conduct
Membership in the Honest Abe Society is based solely on self-attestation by the member attorney. The Society does not independently verify disciplinary history, malpractice history, or professional qualifications. The Society does not endorse or guarantee the services of any member.
